2017 Mathematics In The Mountains Keynote Speaker: Heather Lindfors-Navarro

Make the Invisible Visible

Once a teacher who had decided to leave the profession, Heather is now a teacher leader and a fierce advocate for teachers and students. Heather will talk about the experiences that kept her in education. She will be sharing the key lessons that shifted her mindset from an educator who felt powerless amidst the highly controversial political climate to an educator who realized that the real power was in her ability to affect change within her classroom-starting with her students and fellow teachers. Implementing and affecting change within the education system, with a focus on equity, is an exhausting and sometimes daunting endeavor. Heather will share her thoughts on how to stay focused and develop resiliency, while encouraging others to join in this work by making the invisible visible.
